MEET CARLOTTA

For over 20 years, I have studied human health and worked as a general practitioner, dedicating myself to helping people heal. While deeply rewarding, I could not shake the feeling that something was missing. Humanity is thriving, but we are also the primary cause of climate change and biodiversity loss. It breaks my heart to know that since 1970, two-thirds of wildlife populations have disappeared. We often forget that our survival depends entirely on a healthy, balanced natural world.
My lifelong connection to nature stems from my Italian roots. Every summer, I have spent time on Elba, a small island off the coast of Tuscany. These experiences sparked my fascination with marine life and the natural world.
Although the beauty of nature remains undeniable, the impact of climate change and biodiversity loss has become increasingly visible. Warmer waters, pollution, and overfishing have significantly diminished the richness of marine ecosystems. I see this decline in the reduced underwater diversity, hear it in the stories of local residents, and find it confirmed in scientific research.
Even so, I am still inspired by the beauty of Elba. I feel a sense of wonder every time I spot dolphins, rays, tuna species, or octopuses in their natural habitat. These moments fuel my passion for decorating ceramic tiles — creating pieces that celebrate the beauty of nature and raise awareness about the urgency of protecting it.
Through my art, I aim to bring a piece of nature’s wonder into people’s lives while also supporting the planet.
A portion of the proceeds from every collection is donated to environmental organizations such as WWF or local NGOs. By sharing the stories behind each piece, I hope to inspire others to cherish and protect the natural world.
